Preserving their Legacy

Conservation Management

In collaboration with the Getty Conservation Institute, the Foundation developed the Eames House Conservation Management Plan (CMP)—a research-based framework that deepens understanding of the site’s history and guides preservation of its structure, landscape, and the spirit of Charles and Ray’s life and work.

“There is a tradition held in common
by anyone who in his daily life has been
compelled to face new problems—that is
a tradition of respect and concern for
everything in the world around them.
To excel in the structuring of a problem
we must be committed to a concern for
quality in everything around us. We must
learn to care deeply.”

– Charles & Ray Eames
