February 19, 2016: We were thrilled to participate in the 4th International Iconic Houses Conference at the Getty Center, and to be one of the homes featured on the touring schedule.
January 21, 2016: Finding inspiration! The Eames House hosted a design team, with interior tours leading into an afternoon of inspiration for the group.
March 12, 2015: Herman Miller Nemschoff filmed industrial designer Jess Sorel and Eames Demetrios discussing the Eameses’ guest host relationship.
October 25, 2014: Trick or treat! One Sponsor celebrated Eames Family Day with a wonderful day of picnics, balloons, pumpkins, activities and even an ice cream truck.
October 11, 2014: Celebrating the life of Lucia Eames, Founder of Eames Foundation, with family and friends.
July 19, 2014: The singers were at the Eames House staring in a film showcasing an award-winning amenity kit created by the Eames Office and WESSCO International for American Airlines.
March 27, 2014: It’s out! PBS filmed the Eames House as one of 10 Homes that Changed America, premiering on PBS on April 5th, 2016. We are honored to be included!
September 8, 2013: A beautiful dinner under the stars in the parking area, lamps hung above, with 30 invitees dining after interior tours.
June 2, 2013: A+D Museum held an elegant salon at the Eames Foundation, inviting guests to explore our architecturally significant site, while enjoying fine food and music.
March 16, 2013: The Eames House serves as a wonderful oasis for contemplative retreats as well as a dynamic place for team building. Inspiring!
March 1, 2013: Congratulations on another successful conference! TED participants were hosted at the Eames House for a wine and cheese toast.
December 15, 2012: Happy 100th Birthday Ray! Inspired by a classic photo of Ray and Charles on a motorcycle, a group ride explored various noteworthy Eamesian sites.
November 7, 2012: Dinner for fifteen in the Studio. A perfect spot, intimately arranged to accommodate a Sponsor’s guests.
October 13, 2012: Boo! Halloween came early as a Sponsor hosted a Halloween picnic in the meadow filled with skeletons, pirates, superheroes, a fireman, princesses, and more.
March 31, 2012: Taking their pleasure seriously, children and adults designed and created chairs in the middle of the living room of the Eames House – a once-in-a-lifetime setting.
March 10, 2012: We reimagined the Eameses’ tea ceremony with Isamu Noguchi, Charlie Chaplin and others. We were honored that tea master Mrs. Matsumoto returned to lead our ceremony.
January 23, 2012: A friend sent us two dragons from China, which we hung in swoops across the living room… a rare opportunity to celebrate the Eameses’ spatial play AND the Year of the Dragon.
January 7 – 8, 2012: We rang in Ray’s Centennial with an exhibit of Ray’s early paintings, a restaging of the Eameses’ first Christmas Eve in their home, and a tour of all five PST Eames exhibitions.
October 1, 2011: The essence of our Eames House exhibit was the interplay of the very contemporary restoration work being done to preserve the house and a suite of pop-up historical vignettes.
October 10, 2010: 10/10/10! The Eames Foundation and Eames Office hosted a fundraiser celebrating Powers of Ten, the Eameses’ classic visual journey of scale.
June 12, 2008: A beautiful dinner under the stars in the parking area, lamps hung above, with 30 invitees hosted by a gracious donor after interior tours.
