SUMMARY:Frieze VIP Opening Reception of "Eames House: Impressions of Light"
DESCRIPTION:Frieze VIPs are invited to join The Charles & Ray Eames Foundation for a morning exhibition opening reception at the Eames House for Eames House: Impressions of Light\, accompanied by light refreshments. \n\n\n\nThe exhibition explores Charles and Ray Eames’s understanding of the Eames House as a living prism—shaped by the interplay of light\, reflection\, and texture. Drawing from the Eameses’ personal photography and film\, House: After Five Years of Living\, alongside a new\, site-responsive installation of cyanotypes by internationally renowned artist James Clar\, the exhibition reveals light and landscape as active collaborators in the making of place. From the Eameses’ early observations to Clar’s monumental cyanotype banners—created using the Studio itself as a lens—the House is presented as an evolving condition rather than a fixed structure. \n\n\n\nArtist James Clar will be in attendance\, and Foundation staff will be present throughout the morning to offer insight into the Eames House and to share more about the mission of the newly established Charles & Ray Eames Foundation and its future initiatives. Set within Charles and Ray Eames’s former private studio\, the exhibition invites guests to reflect on the enduring relevance of the Eameses’ ideas within contemporary art and design. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThis event is generously sponsored by Aesop.

SUMMARY:Eames Foundation @ Modernism Week 2026
DESCRIPTION:Join Charles & Ray Eames Foundation Board Chairman Eames Demetrios\, grandson of Charles and Ray\, and Executive Director Adrienne Luce for an overview of the restructured Foundation\, entitled “The Charles & Ray Eames Foundation: Preserving Legacy\, Inspiring the Future.” \n\n\n\nAfter Charles’s passing in 1978 and then Ray’s in 1988\, exactly ten years later to the day\, the Eames Office became the family’s means of stewarding both the cultural and commercial legacy\, later establishing the Eames House Preservation Foundation. This vision evolved into today’s Charles & Ray Eames Foundation\, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that builds on the preservation mission while extending the cultural work long championed by the Eames Office. \n\n\n\nGuided by Charles’s words—“Eventually everything connects”—the Foundation celebrates the enduring power of design to link people\, ideas\, and generations.
