We love hearing stories and seeing examples of how Charles and Ray have inspired others. What drew you to visit the Eames House?

When a nine-year old was asked to report on a famous Californian she chose to learn and talk about Ray.

Describing the House as being deeply embedded in the So CA landscape and culture: “a playing-card thin, light steel construction inserted into and overrun by a rocky woolly landscape.”

Artists of every age are spotted at the Eames House!

After a day sketching the house, Alina Chau wrote “It’s wonderful to see the [Eameses’] living space, and try to imagine how they designed a creative space that also stimulated creativity.”

After two boys, ages 4 and 6, created a Lego Eames House, their mother wrote: “I am delighted that the Eames House is part of their vernacular! Thank you for a wonderful day at the House.”

A London architect described his 1987 visit with Ray, commenting, “The memory of that ninety minutes with Ray more than twenty-six years ago will live with me forever.”

A high school student brought his Polaroid SX-70 to photograph the Eames House one summer day, forty-three years after Charles and Ray’s film introducing this revolutionary instant technology.

An architect looks at the present day influence of the work of the Eameses on current design practices, as well as on his own design endeavors.
