On 10/10/10, the Eames Foundation celebrated Powers of Ten, the Eameses’ classic visual journey of scale. The evening began in the Micro world at the Eames Office: viewing the film along with many other rarely seen classics, and exploring scale through a rich variety of sources.
The Eames Foundation transported the 100 guests to the Eames House via vans, and stepped into the Macro world, where visitors toured the Eames House and enjoyed an elegant feast in the meadow. The House was specially lit, with colors and lighting evolving as the evening went on, to encourage a fresh understanding of it. All guests went home with DVDs of Powers of Ten and Teaching Scale, with the hope that they would be shared with students and others.
